DIY Holiday Decor

Ashlyn Johnson
We've all seen pictures in magazines of dinner tables beautifully decorated for holiday dinners and admired the work. As a floral designer, I spend a lot of time making large, costly centerpieces for people throughout the season. Having a decorated table gives a final, cozy touch to the atmosphere of the meal, so I thought this podcast would be a fun way to offer alternative, cheaper options than having a centerpiece made. This podcast contains options from three different perspectives. The first décor idea, using pinecones, is more directed towards people with a rustic, natural style. They're also a little more hands-on and can be painted in a way that reflects the person's style. Experimenting with arranging tulips is for those who enjoy the classic look of having fresh flowers on the table but which want to avoid the potentially high costs. My last idea, using Christmas ornaments, is for someone who, at the last minute, discovers that he or she wants to decorate the table with more than just plates of food (though food is my favorite centerpiece!).
